The OCC Market
Story

AA

The OCC Market was established in 1985 by a small group of local farmers and organizations as a Local Producers Market, with a focus on showcasing Colorado-grown products. For 40 years, we have proudly carried forward this tradition, offering patrons some of the finest local produce and goods in the state. The market has always been owned and operated by a vendor or grower, which we believe is essential for preserving the authenticity and spirit of this community event as it continues to thrive year after year.

In 2025, Frank Schmidt of Schmidt Apiaries, along with his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Rick, retired from the market after nearly four decades of providing honey products. Their commitment and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the market’s reputation as one of the city’s premier destinations. Both the community and fellow vendors are deeply grateful for their dedication, and they will be missed.

The current owner’s family has been involved with the market since its inception and can be found every Saturday selling their tree fruit by the stage. Their goal is to uphold this longstanding tradition by delivering high-quality products to market patrons. They look forward to welcoming you each Saturday—please stop by and say hello!
